We have yet to the see the bottom of the looming recession that's been stalking the American economy, but many businesses are already feeling the ripples from the recently-reported massive job losses, rising unemployment claims, rising prices for staples like food and gasoline, and it's no wonder that travel and tourism in California is down, just like it is everywhere else. When the economy is slowing down, less people are getting news jobs, fewer people get raises, and everyone has much less disposable income even for economical alternatives like California train travel. On the upside, however, for those of you have managed to hang on to a few bucks, there's bound to be bargains around for travel and tourism in California. When times are tight, that's when rates get slashed, and the travel and tourism in California industry starts slathering on the goodies, to get tourists to part with their hard-earned vacation bucks. However, it's going to take more than a few coupons and some free meals to take the travel and tourism in California business out of the slump it's heading for. |
