Cathay Pacific Airlines has decided to cut some of their routes for those that want to travel southern California by way of LAX by October 26. The international airline has decided to focus on other regions of the world such as Australia. Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong, China based carrier. They have decided to cut their travel southern California opportunities for travelers abroad to help cope with a lack of flights booked due to the world’s economy.
Along with fewer flights to LAX, Cathay Pacific is also cutting routes to Vancouver, Canada. It looks like they are doing away with much of their travel to the west coast. Those that use Cathay Pacific will still have opportunities for southern California travel but advanced planning will need to take place. There will only be two chances a week to fly into LAX.
I am not sure what affect this will have on China based travel and tourism in California but it’s not going to help. The subtracted routes to the west are being moved to Australia, which must mean there are more people interested in traveling there.
