travel southern california, california travel guide A couple of weeks ago, a Southern California travel guide would have warned vacationers of how large the coastal waves were. I went to the beach during this time and saw the six foot high waves breaking 20 feet from the beach line. I was scared to go any deeper then my knees. The water was rough. For surfers though it was a Mecca of great rides. All of the people I know who love surfing say this is the best time of the year to hit the coastline. Many travel Southern California, along the coast searching for great sets, beautiful scenery and an experience only rivaled in Hawaii.

Some would say Florida and the east coast are seeing high surf season right now too but there is something called humidity there. Personally, I don’t like stepping outside in 85 degree weather and five minutes later feeling like I just got out of the shower. Travel Southern California if humidity is not one of your favorite parts of summer. There is coastal humidity but it’s nothing. Northern California travel also offers spectacular coastlines and surfing during August. I think we all deserve some rest and relaxation.
