Travel Southern California for the Surf |

Surfing is the national past time of Californians. I have not had a chance to try my luck on the waves yet but have a friend who has lived in the state for years and finds no better place for peace and excitement then when floating on his board in the ocean. Many surfers come to travel southern California during these summer months because the sets are regular and the water is warm. There is no need for a wet suit. I hear northern California travel for surf also holds some great surf spots. A drive up the Pacific Coast highway exposes many of these spots but even for those like me who don’t surf the scenery is spectacular. Letting the PCH become the California travel guide will offer passers through some of the best looking pieces of coast this country has to offer. My favorite spot is just above Ventura, in between there and Santa Barbara. There are some truly amazing spots for coastal pictures in these sandy areas.
The other day my surfer buddy told me a story about a pod of dolphins he accidentally paddled into near Malibu. The dolphins were feeding on a school of fish and he got too close to their meal so one of them blew by at 40 MPH, knocking him off his board. It circled back, clicking and making noise until he was scared out of his wits and paddled away. Talk about a story. Travel southern California in July for the best temperatures. It’s 80 degrees today.
